Hi, I’m Demi, and welcome to Glow Gal Glow!

This blog is for the everyday gal. It's made by me, a California videographer/photographer, beach lover, writer and culinary enthusiast. I love serving the world by gathering memories via photo/video and providing an honest, fun, and spontaneous sense of life. I'll be posting every other Monday for those in search of home, beauty, fashion and cuisine inspiration! Have a desire to grow, decorate, be inspired, or just look at delicious food? Then this is the place for you.

My friends know me for the strong lavender scent that fills my life. I'm also known as the fashionable foodie of the group. I'm obsessed with the color yellow, home facials, Sunday mornings, soft fabrics, unique beauty, and trend forecasting. Most days you can fine me trying new recipes from my Pinterest @demicastanon. However, I’ll choose bread and butter instead of dessert every time. There is no discrimination of color, origin, shape, size, spiced, fried, gluten-free, store-bought or home-cooked.

I started this wonderful journey in 1994. I believe life is about the honest company you keep, working toward goals, and making a life you love. I'm passionate about photography and filming everything from clothing, food/beverage, personal portraits, and advertising campaigns. As a writer I’ve been spotlighted on Elite Daily, Yahoo Style, Spoon University, Her Campus, and more. In the past I've also been asked to work with BuzzFeed Tasty and PopSugar.

When I’m not busy editing, you can find me at the beach simultaneously playing volleyball and sipping a margarita, traveling the beautiful coasts of Southern California while singing (not too badly) to blasting music in my car, or somewhere eating a carb with cheese (I’m not joking). My life, a lot like my Instagram Explore page, is a mix of beachy chic things with gluten and cheese. Even though I’m gluten crazed, I try my best to live a low-carb life. So I’ll be providing no-carb and low-carb articles as well as gooey sugar-filled ones. Here are seven other things you might not know about me:

1. Favorite T.V. Shows/Movies?

I currently binge The Mindy Project and Broad City.

I LOVE Big Little Lies, Saturday Night Live, Mad Men,

Chef’s Table, and The Handmaid’sTale.

My favorite movies are Something’s Gotta Give

and She’s the Man (duh).

2. Favorite Drink?

Blended Lime Margarita

3. Biggest fear?

Skydiving, I’m terrified of heights.

I also pass out on roller coasters, so you’ll

never see me on one of those either. If you do,

then you’ll know I really value our friendship

to do something like that for you.

4. Favorite place in the world?

Either at home on my cozy couch at sunset,

or the backyard in Kauai watching the sunrise 

over the water. It’s my hale for the haole.

5. What age do you wish you could stay?

30. Well I haven’t crossed that yet, BUT

I think it’s going to be my solid peak age

for learning, growth, and teaching.

6. Something you like the old-fashioned way?

Dating. I love helping my friends with their Bumble profiles,

but I'm in a relationship with the love of my life. I think

the dating stage should never end. You should treat

each other with the most respect and your significant

other should always be a gentleman (or gentlewoman).

7. Any goals for the next 5 years?

By that time I'll be 28. I want to produce and

publish a cookbook, travel to Europe and Japan,

stay healthy, and keep creating inspirational

content for my amazing clients and for Glow Gal Glow!
