My best friends are my everything. Don't they deserve to feel like mi casa es su casa?! You don't have to use all these items. I usually go overboard when it comes to hospitality (thanks to my mom), so pick through what works for you! The small things really do make a difference!

1. SEEN WIFI PASSWORD

By doing this, 1. people don't feel bad asking for it, and 2. you don't have to fetch that tiny post-it you lost with the password on it.

2. SNACK BOWL

Keeping out a small bowl of candies, pretzels, or whatever you consider a goodie for the season, makes people feel more at home and relaxed by enjoying a good tasting treat. I've done chips and salsa, animal cookies and Trader Joe's dark chocolate espresso beans. If you're feeling fancy, baking something seasonable and homemade or setting out a small bread and cheese plate is always nice. Currently at my place you'll see Werther's Original butterscotch candies. Pro Tip: I don't use nuts in case of allergies.

3. SOFTNESS

This will make your home feel more cozy. Don't be afraid to be EXTRA on this especially if it's a cooler season! Lay out clean soft pillows and blankets, because who doesn't like feeling cozy?! It's nice to value your couch as much as your bed. Wal-Mart actually sells low price and incredibly soft oversized throws, blankets and pillows (yes I admit it!).

4. FURNITURE BY OUTLETS

It's annoying and awkward to get up and block everyones view of The Bachelor every time your iPhone goes off. Make it easy for yourself and others to arrange your furniture so it's close enough to outlets for charging purposes.

5. KEEP IT LIGHT

Open up the curtains to let the light in if it's daytime! It'll make your space feel larger and more happy.

6. LAVENDER

Lavender's scent is meant to calm and cure, making you and your friends more relaxed and happy. Get most out of the scent by lighting a lavender candle, use lavender room space, or place lavender essential oils in an ionizer.
